The latency I have been experiencing lately with ihu is incredibly long. From the time of answering the call to hearing the first sounds at the receiving end is more than a minute and twenty seconds. I've used ihu in the past with only a little latency. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 amd64 at both ends. The delay is this long even from one machine to another on my LAN. Other programs on both computers play sound without delay. The problems may have started after I upgraded one end to 10.04 while the other end was still ubuntu 9.10. Now both ends are using 10.04. This has of course made ihu completely unusable, though the delay was surprisingly entertaining for a little while.
Regardless of this problem, I'd like to say thanks for this generally well done program.
You might want to consider integrating the use of a ssh tunnel for encryption purposes.
Hi,
thank you for reporting this. However the problem you describe is very strange.
Large delay usually depends on the audio interface you choose in Audio settings, and/or on sampling frequencies, especially on notebooks that use virtual soundcards.
Try to change audio settings to see you can solve the problem.
Regards
Matteo

I'm having the exact same problem, 60 sec. delay on local LAN. Just getting started with IHU, using defaults for configuration.
