I had a project in the last couple of days doing shell scripting. The
aim was to get a taste of what you can do with these scripts, how
powerful they are etc. However, one of my scripts turned out to become a
solution to one of my everyday problems: unsorted music files on my IFP.
sIFP (sorted IFP) extends the capability of ifp-line and helps you
upload a directory of music files to your IFP player sorted according to
the tracknumber field in the tags attached to the music files.
The script requires nothing but a terminal, ogginfo from the collection
of oggtools (http://www.vorbis.com) and of course ifp-line (the reason
for bringing it up here). Initially only Ogg Vorbis files are supported
but support for MP3 files will be added soon.
Check out the screenshots below, try it out.. tell me if you like it or not.
And of course.. not to forget it is free as in GPL :-)
