The purpose of this project is to develop an engine for running web based Interactive Fiction (also known as text adventures) and to develop a XML based Interactive Fiction Markup Language (IFML).
I'm looking to revive this project to run in a modern javascript/html5 environment and add multi-media and an editor. Join the mailing list to keep informed of updates.
Have you seen TeaVM and Flavour? They let you compile Java code to JavaScript so it runs in the browser. This might be a great way to port IFML to the browser.

I have mostly ported IFML to TeaVM. You can complete Biki's Big Adventure and complete most of the activities. The egg game is not available, and there are a few minor bugs remaining.
