The classification values from the assemblycode are only exported if IFC2x3 GSA are used?

Would be great if the IfcClassificationReference values are also exported from Revit by IFC other versions.

Also the wish to use own values in IFCCLASSIFICATION, from the uniformat classification file (assemblycode file).
    For example
    IFCCLASSIFICATION('www.stabu.org','2012',$,'STABU-Element');

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Hans,

You are correct that the classification values are only exported for GSA at the moment. However, we are actively working on adding generic classification support and you should expect to see that soon.

    Thanks,
    Angel

    Hi Angel,

Although there are currently 2 options to add a classification code to objects, 1. with the assembly code (but only in combination with "GSA export settings"), 2. by adding a ClassificationCode parameter to the objects, the use of the Assembly Code is easier, since one can use the picklist.
Would it be possible to add to the exporter the option "use Assembly Code as Classification" (e.g. IfcClassificationReference ItemReference), so it could also be used with the Ifc Coordination View 2.0 settings?

    Regards,
    Dirk

      Hi Dirk,

Generic support for ClassificationReference has been added since the latest R2013 as part of support for FMHandOverView MVD. Please refer to section 6 in the Wiki page how to do it (http://sourceforge.net/p/ifcexporter/wiki/Notes%20on%20support%20for%20FMHandOverView/).

It allows you to add any classification you want with specific format in pre-defined Revit parameter.

      Regards,
      Wawan

    Hi Wawan,

Indeed, that's the option (2.) I mentioned in my post. Unfortunately only the "Assembly Code" has the functionality to use the very handy treelist to assign a code.

    Regards,
    Dirk
