    Hi all,

i'm trying to export an IFC with grids and rooms, but i can only export grids from a site view, and when I export from a 3D view, I've got the rooms, but not the grids...

Anyone can tell me if is there some way to export them at once?

    Thnaks!

    Hi there,

Yes there is a way of achieving this.
Start by going to your Ifc options (IFC Export Classes) and change everything to "Not Exported" - without the quotation marks - but leave the Grids to IfcGrid and Rooms to IfcSpace. Since it is a very tedious procedure you can achieve this quickly by:

    1. Saving a copy of the IFC Export Classes on your Desktop. This will be a .txt format file which you are going to open with Excel
    2. In Excel just change all the column values to Not Exported (besides Grids and Rooms rows) and save the file with another name maintaining the .txt format
    3. Import this new file back into Revit

Now you can setup a 3D view with everything visible and chose to export this 3D view with a basic export setup where you are sure to leave "Export only elements visible in view" option unchecked. You should generate an IFC with a similar reult as in the attached file.
