I have a 3D model of a building that was created in Revit. I created spaces for all of the individual rooms in the building, for energy analysis purposes. However, after exporting the model to IFC, when viewing the IFC model a handful of the spaces appear to have very strange geometries, shown in the attached images. As can be seen, the spaces have strange geometries that do not match the rectangular shape of the actual room. However, these spaces appear to be normal with the correct geometries when the model is viewed in Revit. The 3D model was created in Revit 2018 and exported to IFC 2x3 Coordination View 2.0 using the IFC exporter in the attached link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ifcexporter/
Hi Ahmed. Sorry for the delay - as for these rooms, first off make sure you have the latest IFC open source exporter. (Since you are here you probably do.) I think many room issues are fixed in later versions of Revit, but if upgrading is not feasible, then you might be able to fix these rooms by adding room separation lines around the problematic rooms before export.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:

Any input would be appreciated.
