Some of you have reported some problems with the current version of IENetP (version 1.0.1). The software appears to run on a capture file, but nothing happens. This is due to the fact that the software only analyzes EtherNet/IP Connected Class 1 Multicast traffic. It is supposed to report that it doesn't see any packets if there aren't any, but appears to have a bug, so it doesn't do anything.
I am currently working on a new version of the software, version 1.1, and hope to have it complete before the end of 2010. The new version of the software will still, by default, analyze EtherNet/IP Connected Class 1 Multicast traffic. However, the new version will allow the user to override the Wireshark filter. This will allow the user to analyze the variability/jitter of any packet types that they can write a Wireshark filter to describe.
The other major change to the software will help future development, but won't affect the end user very much. It will replace the commercial graphing package with the .NET charting feature that was added into .NET 3.5 and improved with .NET 4.0.
