Christophe, 

I ended up getting it to work with apache 2 but it took a lot of
playing.  Make sure you have the right modules installed.  In the debian
install all of the modules are disabled and you have to move them to
another folder.  Also I had to edit the default config a few times to
get it working.

As for the EXIF info, I didn't have any problems so I have nothing to
pass on.
