I tried do do a "Standard Repository Install" for Ubuntu, which I just updated to 20.04 Focal Fossa. The package appears not to be in the repository:

$ sudo apt-get install idjc
[sudo] password for odonnell:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package idjc is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'idjc' has no installation candidate

I prefer not to do a "Building from sourc" since I already have too many out-of-repository items to remember to keep up to date.

    Willing to bet 20.04 no longer has Python2 either and this is the main reason the IDJC package was removed.

      I think you are correct. Unfortunately, a number of required packages are not available any more even when installing Python 2, e.g., python-gtk2. I tried installing those from earlier versions but python-mutagen won't work because of python3-mutagen. Argh. A working Python3 version of IDJC would be much appreciated (including instructions on how to build which has worked pretty well for me in the past). I still think IDJC is the best solution for my purposes.

    When compiling on 20.04 Focal Fossa, I finally got stuck at missing "glib-2.0"

    Will there be any updated package for Ubuntu 20.04 soon?

      I could suggest you get in touch with the last known package maintainer to inform them that IDJC is currently being maintained and that a new package would be appreciated.

      Even if they agree new package have to go through an approval process.
