I've tried using this tutorial https://we.riseup.net/nikgnomic/ubuntu-studio-qjackctl-and-pulseaudio-for-idjc but didn't have any luck getting it all to work - somehow pulseaudio doesn't seem to appear anywhere in the jack connections window. I haven't used a jack/IDJC combination for a few years when I followed this tutorial and got it working well once I'd got my head around things https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1434555

Once I'd got my head around it I found it more or less straightforward to set up a jack/IDJC combination, but I tried again a couple of years ago, and didn't have any success, so I started to use Mixxx, which does the job, but I can't say that I'm relaly that keen on it, and would love to get it all working again with IDJC. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi
It has been over a year since i edited that tutorial for Ubuntu Studio 16.04
For the newer long term supported Ubuntu Studio 18.04 a lot of the tutorial is redundant
Most of the QjackCtl default settings are good to go once the correct sound device is selected

If JACK is starting ok and but missing the Pulseaudio connections, check if you have the package pulseaudio-jack installed
This package should install a module in Pulseaudio to detect JACK starting
you can check if modle is present with command
    grep 'jackdbus' /etc/pulse/default.pa

JACK and QjackCtl hasn't changed too much since that old Ubuntu forum post, but Pulseaudio has been through major development. Didn't have Pulseaudio with IDJC back then when it could all run in ALSA
