#85 Features Request - Mic Live, Label text and visual aid

Hi Stephen

I was wondering whether any of the possible requests could be looked at please?

1) Have the ability to change the text in the 'Stream' and 'DJ' buttons
2) Also related to above, is it possible to change the colours on the Stream and DJ buttons, as the light grey makes it diffult to see whether it's active or not?
3) Could the Mic/Presenter button be completly red when open - I know at the minute I have increased the size of the red bars to the left and right but it's still not totally obvious that the Mic is open - this could potentially cause issues for people saying things on air that were not meant to be. Even a 'Mic Live' button somwhere would be helpful, as all radio stations have.

Also (forgot one), is it possible to multiple select and delete items from the playlist rather than one at once.

Playlist Menu->Item->Remove->...This / From Here / To Here
Playlist Menu->Playlist->Empty
Turning on rubber band selection makes dragging files around much harder.

I’m usually in favour of clean, uncluttered interfaces and thus a little biased against too playful-colorized interfaces.

Still, many things can be done using the idjcmonitor interface. I’m currently writing a MQTT-based studio signalling system (will be Open Source) that can drive both a display (or simply be used with a bowser) and a regular studio signal tower (like WERMA, PATLITE, Eaton, …).

Here’s an image of the current version, already in use at two studios:

This (Python-based) software can also drive a 24V DC studio signal tower using a standard USB-connected IOWarrior relais board.

On a 40" wall-mounted screen or together with the signal tower, NO ONE will ever miss "the red light" again … ;-)

Ages ago I tried completely red as a background and found myself fighting GTK which wanted to do mouse-over highlighting that changed the background completely. Figured that other window managers would do sly stuff so even if I found a work around it would end up breaking.

I also found the redness to be overwhelming.

Anyway I just added an expand option for Status Indicator Appearance. I think it works well with Opened set to Olympic Blue and Remind set to Scarlet Red. I also increased the max fixed width to 30 pixels.
