I'm running Gentoo Linux and I don't seem to be alone with this issue under Gentoo Linux, but the LS-120 device (in my case /dev/hdb), only appears when booting with a disk in the drive.
I've tried googling around on the subject and checking out the man pages, after reading something on one of the core ide-floppy developers home page. I added "hdb=ide-floppy" to my /boot/grub/menu.lst file, which didn't do a thing.
The obvious is already done, like IDE floppy support being compiled in, etc., etc.
I am completely stumped. Do I just have to wait for the 2.5 ide-floppy support to stabilise?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
