Status of Icyard

I'm updating the status of icyard for the good faith that someone is using it out there. Icyard has been in production use for WTBU (http://www.wtburadio.org) for more than 2 years, and we never had any problems with it, so I've decided to label the project both mature and inactive.

A plan is going in parallel with Slurpcast (http://cs-people.bu.edu/liulk/slurpcast), a streaming server written in Objective CAML (http://caml.inria.fr), to create a stream archive client, again, in the Objective CAML language. It will be a new project.

icyard continues to grow

it's been put through a month of production environment. i'm continuing other aspects of effort besides the main icyard itself. for example, i'm putting together a cgi-bin program to serve as the front end for icyard's archived files.

i do not have a release plan laid out yet because i don't think it is in a hurry. if you do want it, just pull it off CVS and it's ready there. i have yet to work on more documentation such as installation instruction. am i going to make some automated installation script? i don't know. depends on you. i personally know too well about the project and i don't care. if you need it, i'll write one.... read more

icyard 0.9-dev status update

The 0.9-dev version, though crude, has actually been put on production for a month. it should perform reasonably fine (with documented quirks and stuff). Make sure you read the pod files in the /doc directory. So far i have no plan on releasing a tarball, but you can go ahead and grab a copy from CVS.
