I did a network trace on ICQ2000b's client. The protocol they used is not ICQ UDP v5. Did any one suceed in drafting a spec of ICQ2000b's protocol?

I've not got any network programming knowledge whatsoever, but if anyone is thinking of doing that I'd be eternally grateful because it's ICQ2000b's protocol (and HTTPS proxy support) that lets me use it through the firewall I have to deal with, and thus I can't use ICQ in Linux at all. So lots of adoration to anyone who gets that working...

It's TCP AIM Oscar protocol being used in ICQ 2000b.

i've used libfaim to send msgs to icq2000b clients... it works, but the learning curve is really steep... it's an ugly thing, but the only usable aim oscar supporting lib

      good luck :)

So, what about a lib which will support icq2000b protocol?
I think it is time to start coding such lib, because... a week ago mirabilis stopped supporting icq98 protocol, so they can do the same with icq udp v5 (icq99b)...  They're very interested in user migration from 99b to 2000b because of banners in 2000b. So, icqlib with 2000b (Oscar) protocol support is needed badly. We don't want to use their damned client full of banners, don't we? :)
