I have just found that a lot of the issues I had with git are to blame on
cogito, including an extreme inneficiency on clone, and after purging cogito
and switching to bare git and stgit, I am a much happier camper.
Heck, the fact that git clone will clone *all* heads much faster than cogito
can clone a single one when using --reference made me very happy indeed :p
But I think I used pure git for the push, so the comment on it being a
massive waster of bandwidth on initial pushes remains.
