Hi, For reference, I am using CentOS 5.4, Asterisk 1.6.1.6, HylaFax+ 5.2.9, IaxModem 1.2.0 - all on the same machine. Asterisk is connected to the outside world using a RedFone twin PRI device. One PRI connection to the PSTN, one to a Nortel Option 11c PBX. I have 11 Iaxmodems installed on this machine. All are set to use ULAW, all have jitterbuffer=no set in iax.conf. All appear in Asterisk OK. All appear in faxstat ok. All faxes are received without error. All outgoing faxes dial the number via Asterisk, connect, & then begin handshaking. All faxes fail with the error "Failure to train remote modem at 2400 bps or minimum speed ; Giving up after 3 attempts to send same page" Internet reading suggest this is an audio quality issue - but, if it is, I do not understand why? All faxes receive ok. Also - I have a Linksys 3102 device connected to an analogue fax machine - and this setup faxes out just fine using Asterisk, (ULAW SIP to Asterisk, then out to the PSTN). If anything - the Linksys / fax machine setup should be less reliable then Iaxmodem because it's remote from the Asterisk box??? I'm close to my goal of a single PBX for phone & fax - I would really welcome some help to track down the issue here... Regards Paul Adams |
