realize now videosupport=yes seems to be a sip.conf concept
tried what you suggested but get same results
did you get it to work with asterisk 1.4?
any other suggestions?

       Asterisk must be patched to include theora support if you want to use
       theora as your video codec. The attached patch should be sufficient.
       It is against asterisk-1.4.20.1.
