Hi Alex,
I'm the owner of the MacBook (and colleague too ;) ) that Andrea is 
talking about.

I've created a .asoundrc file with the content you post, but audio (in 
our app using iaxclient lib) still to be intermittent depending on CPU 
usage.
In any other app using alsa sound is clear.
There's a way to check if the config file is read and load by alsa?
