Did you have a look at MozPhone (http://moziax.mozdev.org)?
It's a Firefox extension IAX softphone. It displays URL received from
Asterisk in Firefox, and also let you make call from web pages using
simple tags, like <a href="tel://123456">call me</a>.
IAX text messages are used to chat with your correspondent.
