I like to use iAlertU on a headless and keyboard less Macmini.
The only trigger options are: keyboard, track path/mouse, devices.
Since non of these are available (i think ?), does it make sense to install iAlertU?

No, I'd advise not. In theory, iAlertU will run on a macmini, but it was never developed to do so and there's been no testing to ensure it will work. Whats more, if there's no accelerometer, or other devices with which to sense an alarm triggering event, it sort of seems a bit pointless.

If you left "devices" ON, but everything else off, then it might detect a change in state if a cable is disconnected, though if it's the network cable, then it can't phone home, and if it's the power cable then all is lost anyway.

You'd get an alarm though if someone plugged say a USB drive in, or a keyboard in.

You can certainly try, but we're not guaranteeing it will work. By all means, let us know the results of your testing.
