Client installation is the same for all clients packages with one or two minor differences that will be highlighted as part of this article.
1. Download Client
Download the appropriate client for your system from the download page, under Client. There are clients for all the major OS'. For Windows this will be an installable exe file for Linux systems this will be an an archived folder that needs extracting.
2. Remove Default Notification Restrictions (Linux only)
The HyperSocket client is accessible from the notification area for Windows this is:

Clients running the Unity desktop will need to allow icons to be shown on the Unity notification area by default Unity prevents these. Open a command prompt and run:
sudo gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']" unity --replace
3. Install the Client (Windows only)
As with any Windows exe simply double-click the downloaded file
4. Run the Client
To run the client on Linux navigate to your HyperSocket folder that you extracted from the download, open a terminal and run:
sudo ./hypersocket-client &
On Windows simply click the HyperSocket icon or navigate to the installation directory by default this is C:\Program Files\hypersocket
and double-click the icon.
5. Configuring the Client
HyperSocket will be available from your notification area:
For Windows:
For Linux:
Simply right-click on this icon and select Options
Enter the location of your HyperSocket Server.
By default this will be listening on port 443 and using the default path of hypersocket but if you have changed these then they need correctly setting here too.
6. Connect to the HyperSocket Server
With the server details configured hit Connect to connect to the server.
If successfully connected the HyperSocket icon will turn blue.
7. Connecting to a Resource
To begin using HyperSocket to connect in to your corporate resources you will need an account creating on the HyperSocket server by the admin and given the permissions to access a resource.
Once you have been given access click Resources on the HyperSocket client which will list all the resources you have been assigned.
Simply type the name of the resource as shown in the Resource dialog using the associated protocol. For example if you have a resource to a HTTPs/443 resource then you need to open a browser using HTTPS and use the resource name as defined in the Resources dialog.
