#84 Hotkeys for creating new records
I'd love the ability to assign some hotkeys for creating new records. I think two things in particular would be useful:
- A hotkey for creating a brand-new record of the type that you are currently viewing. So if I'm viewing a person record, I could press Alt-C (or whatever) to open a brand-new person record. The cursor should focus in the first field of the new record.
- A hotkey for creating a brand-new record of some type, regardless of what you are currently viewing. So if I'm viewing some record, I could press Alt-P (or whatever) to open a brand-new person record, Alt-N for a new note, etc.
It would be awesome if it were possible to choose these key bindings as well, like how in text editors like Notepad++ you can assign the hotkeys to the different functions yourself.
In version 1.32, you will be able to configure hotkeys similarly to Notepad++. At first you will only be able to configure hotkeys for the requested functions (new record of current type, or new record of specific types) but more functions will be added in the future and can be requested.
