#68 Dropdown Menu Possibilities Alphabetized
As noted in Ticket #67, often the dropdown menus in Hypernomicon don't show me exactly what I want. I'd have an easier time finding what I want if they were alphabetized. My impression is that the "Author" dropdown menus are usually (always?) alphabetized. The "Work" dropdown menu seems to be orded via record number or something else. That's not useful to me. Alphabetization would be best, I think. If not by alphabetization then by year. Any ordering would be better than the existing ordering, I think.
Usually in the record dropdown lists (unless there is a really small number of records for the given type), the first 5 options will be the ones most recently accessed. After that, they will usually sorted by the record name. For works, that corresponds to the title. There are probably some places where it would make more sense to sort more like how works would be sorted in a references section of a paper; for instance, the Larger Work field in the Works tab. I feel like it used to sort that way; I might have made a change in a recent version that made all those fields where you are selecting a work sort only by title without realizing it. That is something I should fix.
In the next release, works in a dropdown list will be ordered similarly to how they are in a reference list, instead of by title.
