#47 Display Sub- and Superscript text in smaller size

Microsoft Word (and other text editors), when you make any text subscript or superscript, will automatically make that text display smaller, without changing its font size. For instance, _{this text is smaller}, and ^{this text is smaller too}, even though this is all one font zie. Hypernomicon doesn't do this : subscripts and superscripts just move text down or up without changing the size, so if I want to make the text smaller I have to adjust the font size manually. I'd like the text to be smaller both for readability reasons and because Hypernomicon's implementation changes line spacing, whereas Word and other implementations do not, and it annoys me when line spacing changes like this throughout a document.
