How to Attach Work to Label

How do I attach a label to a work? The only way I can find is if both are in the tree. Then I can drag the work to the label. But if the work isn't in the tree, how do I do this?
In the Works tab, there is a Labels panel on the right side of the tab. You can choose an existing label there or click the browse (...) button to select one from the Tree tab.
Perfect, thanks! I had forgotten about that sidebar since the only other thing it shows is authors, which I never need to see, and when I move my mouse to the right of the text box the little arrangement thingy comes up and blocks my view so I try to keep the right side of the text box as far to the right as possible (via hiding the sidebar).
