I've seen people discuss syncing Hypernomicon databases and related topics before so I thought I'd report on my efforts. Recently I got a second computer and I wanted to sync my Hypernomicon database between the two computers. I have been using Nextcloud to do this and it works great. I have Nextcloud set up to sync the folder containing my Hypernomicon database on both computers. It syncs automatically and I have not encountered any problems yet. This also doubles as a cloud backup solution, which is nice. I think in principle I could sync any number of computers via this method.

Synching using a cloud service should definitely be the topic of my next tutorial video (and I need to hurry up and do it). There are several of features Hypernomicon has that facilitate doing that, that aren't really documented or demonstrated in a video. For example, if you have Hypernomicon open on one computer and try to open the same database on a second computer, it can warn you about that and even provides a means of closing it on the first computer before opening it on the second one. Sometimes I would leave my database open on my home desktop computer and bring my laptop to a seminar at UCSD and realize there that I hadn't saved my work at home, and then it was a pain to have to manually merge the changes in the XML files. With the feature I just mentioned, while in the seminar I was able to have it save/close the instance on my home computer, wait for the changes to sync to my laptop, and then open it on my laptop.
