There seems to be a (admittedly minor) bug. When there is a blank line before the end of a description (or enumerate or itemize) environment, such as in \documentclass{article} \usepackage{hyperlatex} \begin{document} \begin{description} \item[Item] This. \end{description} \end{document} there is a spurious { in the resulting html. I haven't had a chance to see why it appears (sorry), but it is a new bug. Jay |

Hello all: CVS now contains a version of hyperlatex.el that, I believe, will make an ok version 2.9. I am particularly interested in ridding ourselves of the bug that keeps <p>'s from being closed, and that occasionally puts <p></p> pairs where they're not wanted. In all the test material I've got (which is mostly the manual and some assorted smaller texts), the version now in CVS does that, but I'd love to have some other folks test it, too. I'll pack this up in release 2.9 in a few days, but if anyone wants to try it out in the meantime, I'd be grateful to hear about it. The manual at sourceforge was generated with this version, and if you notice something awful in it, please bring it to my attention. Or someone submit it to one of the HTML-checkers out there and post the report. Thanks very much, -tom ------------------------ tomfool at as220 dot org http://sgouros.com http://whatcheer.net |

Hi all, Sometimes I have the following very annoying problem: when launching "hyperlatex filename.tex" I get the error message "Searchi= ng for program: No such file or directory, ftp" Could you explain to me what is wrong and why does hyperlatex calls ftp? It does not happen with all files I hyperlatex, only sometimes and it dri= ves me mad, because I cannot understand when does this occur. Hello, i have a little problem with using hyperlatex. I have written a hyperlatex document and what i want to do now is to extract all my references (the links between the several output html files) into the html files. This because i want to write a skript that after the output goes through the created html-files and then extract each link with its reference...e.g: something.html label1 something2.html label2 . . . my problem is...i can 't insert the needed "information" into the html files.... Perhaps anybody has a good idea? Thank a lot. ______________________________________________________________ Verschicken Sie romantische, coole und witzige Bilder per SMS! I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you want to put navigation panels on the title page, something like this might be what you want: \renewcommand{\maketitle}{\EmptyP{\HlxTitleP}{ \HlxBlk\htmlpanel\html{H1 ALIGN=CENTER}\HlxTitle\html{/H1} \EmptyP{\HlxAuthorP}{\html{H2 ALIGN=CENTER}\HlxAuthor\html{/H2}}{} \EmptyP{\HlxDate}{\html{H3 ALIGN=CENTER}\HlxDate\html{/H3}}{} }{}\htmlpanel{1}} You can construct a panel as you like it with the pieces provided, something like this: \newcommand{\DODSpanel}{ \begingroup \EmptyP{\DODSPrevUrl} {\xlink{\htmlimage[ALT="Prev" BORDER="0"] {\HlxIcons{}ts-prev.gif}}{\DODSPrevUrl}} {\htmlimage[ALT="" BORDER="0"]{\HlxIcons{}ts-prev-gr.gif}} \EmptyP{\DODShomeUrl} {\xlink{\htmlimage[ALT="Up" BORDER="0"] {\HlxIcons{}ts-up.gif}}{\DODShomeUrl}} {\htmlimage[ALT="" BORDER="0"]{\HlxIcons{}ts-up-gr.gif}} \EmptyP{\DODSNextUrl} {\xlink{\htmlimage[ALT="Next" BORDER="0"] {\HlxIcons{}ts-next.gif}}{\DODSNextUrl}} {\htmlimage[ALT="" BORDER="0"]{\HlxIcons{}ts-next-gr.gif}} \EmptyP{\HlxIndexUrl} {\xlink{\htmlimage[Alt="Index" BORDER="0"] {\HlxIcons{}ts-index.gif}}{\HlxIndexUrl}} {} \\ \EmptyP{\DODSPrev}{\textbf{\HlxGoBackName} \DODSPrev\\}{}% \EmptyP{\DODShome}{\textbf{\HlxGoUpName} \DODShome\\}{}% \EmptyP{\DODSNext}{\textbf{\HlxGoForwardName} \DODSNext\\}{}% \htmlrule{} \endgroup} You can put a panel like that wherever you feel like. You might also be interested in the "sequential" package. -tom ------------------------ tomfool at as220 dot org http://sgouros.com http://whatcheer.net |

Hello all: Some fixes to Hyperlatex have been made. I'm not ready for a new release, since I haven't found the <p> bug (Rather I've found it, but haven't yet found a good way to fix it.) and because I have to fix things so I don't have to chase version numbers through the documentation. But I've fixed some things, including a bug in \input reported a few days ago. If you'd like the new version, you can get it from CVS. If you don't know how to do that, write me, and I'll send you a copy. -tom p.s. If a LaTeX paragraph starts with a LaTeX command then the <p> is inserted one line lower. For example, the LaTeX \emph{Here} is where the paragraph should start but instead we get it here. produces the html <em>Here</em> is where the paragraph should start but instead we get it <p>here.</p> I don't know if this is true for any LaTeX command, but I have tried \textbf and \textit. I suspect the strange placing of <p> noticed by Peter Mosses on 23/11/04 may be the same bug: his example is in a paragraph starting \cindex. Chris PS In case you are wondering where the <p> goes if there is only one line in the paragraph starting with a LaTeX command, the answer is nowhere: both the <p> and </p> disappear in this case. |

Hi: When I put an \input statement inside an \htmladdress argument, I uncover a bug. I can't tell if it's a serious or trivial one, without further poking, which I can't do right now. But I'll see what I can do about it this week. -tom ------------------------ tomfool at as220 dot org http://sgouros.com http://whatcheer.net |

Testing if my attachment shows up: It turns out that if I comment out the line in the last footnote that contains $\backslash$ then I get footnotes but not as a separate html file. If I do not comment out that line I get the error I indicated in my last post. If I do not use \input{file} in \htmladdress everything works fine. As an aside on my emacs illiteracy: I should become literate because it is obviously a preferred programming environment... Regards, Hugo __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi all, I started playing with HyperLaTeX a few days ago, and only checked out the mailing list just now. I hope to use it to create course materials that are as beautifully typeset on paper as they are well-designed and navigable online. One of the first things I hacked in was generating proper left and right quotes from TeX's `` and '' as well as em and en dashes from --- and --. (Only afterwards did I see Harald Soleng's post for this feature request.) Unfortunately, I did this by hacking it into hyperlatex.el, before I discovered that \HlxEval could probably do the trick within a .hlx extension package. At any rate, I'll post the diff to hyperlatex.el here, if someone wants to try it. At some point later, I will try to re-implement it as a .hlx, if you think that's more appropriate. Best wishes, Chris |
