Is it correct that I am to do configure an existing agent to monitor the "network service" "http" on an existing platform and then configure the server name and host name to be www.google.com?

I did this. Now I guess I need to configure this and add metric and indicators. 
The config page is where Im NOT sure what I need to add . A user and password ??
does it have to be a valid user---For say www.google.com I dont need a account 
path ???
realm ?
method ?

Also what I would need to to as far as adding any metrics or indicators so I could set up an alertt .. Please help just trying to setup a test for our web page .
