Have you tried this?  If so, what exact errors are stopping you?  What device(s) are you trying?

As for your syslog question, if you are wanting to aggregate ALL your logs on HQ, that's probably not something you should do.  What HQ is designed to do is to watch your logs for problems and alert you to those log messages.  If you can clarify what exactly you want to do here, I can probably help you get it set up.
