[Hyperic-hq-discuss] CpuPerc Computation/Compute Delta Between to Cpu instances

I noticed that CpuPerc used to provide a method called delta to compute the CpuPerc between to Cpu instances.

Is there a mechanism that supports computing the delta between two Cpu periods or do I need to roll my?

How is CpuPerc on Linux computed?  How can I get the CpuPerc, between two intervals?
