You can build from the 1.6 branch, or apply the patch to 1.6.3: http://github.com/hyperic/sigar/commit/a355ba22c9a4469edb71911cb482bb11fe5853c5

Sigar was also recently added to the ports build, which includes a similar patch to build on 8.0:
