Currently users can't add Mixed Groups to the Groups Alerts Summary - only Compatible Groups is an option. Users should be able to setup any resource for holistic viewing on a dashboard.

New feature request for adding Mixed Groups to some kind of dashboard portlet that will allow you to view health of the group.
