Configure a large environment with a large number of reporting agents. The platforms/services will have DOWN/UP resource alerts. The objective is to have a large number of these alerts.

 

Shut down the server for some time so that metrics are spooled to disk.



Start up the server. The agents should have a hard time connecting because of metric backlog. After 5 minutes, the backfiller should start sending availability=0 events causing DOWN events to fire.
