Dear all, it might not have been clearly stated before, so I would like to do it now. As a part of the development standards policy in projects belonging to Corrib Cluster we still use Java version 5.0 (or up to 5.0, as long as it compiles on 5.0). Therefore, if you have written **anything** in Java 6.0 for our projects, that does not compile on 5.0, **you will have to bring it down 5.0**. Please consider it part of Corrib policy (together with organization of sources on subversion, proper use of Eclipse set up for code quality checkup, etc) - I hope to list it on wiki this week to make it clear. Thanks, Sebastian -------------------------------------------- -- Sebastian Ryszard Kruk -- Lead Researcher, Project Manager -- Semantic Infrastructure Lab, eLearning Cluster -- Digital Enterprise Research Institute -- National University of Ireland, Galway -- mailto: seb...@de... -- GG: 335067, Jabber: s_...@ch... -- Skype: sebastiankruk -- WWW: http://www.sebastiankruk.com/ -- mobile (IRL): +353 85 7126591 -- VoIP (PL): +48 52 5110114 -------------------------------------------- |

There are two services we use it for - =20 distributed search and distributed authentication and authorization. =20 With the upcoming support for OAI-PMH (finally!) and improved MMS, we =20= are getting closer to realizing my vision of heterogeneous networks =20 of digital libraries. It would be nice however, to have some other =20 parties working with us in order to test the ideas with their =20 solutions, i.e., other libraries. The OAI-PMH support should be =20 delivered by mid-Nov the latest. We will keep you posted on the jeromedl-users mailing list about it. Sebastian Here in the following my comments to the below question points. 1) Ok! I'm looking for. 2.1.1, 2.1.2) I tried to access bleedingedge.jeromedl.org but the = service is temporarily unavailable. I'm looking for credentials to = access it. 2.2.1, 2.2.2) I assume that Semantic queries are the main focus of = JeromeDL: they should be allowed on the whole JeromeDL knowledge base, = by using metadata from Marcont, FoafRealm and JeromeDL.structure = ontologies. Templates for more frequent user queries, concerned with = people and subjects of resources are necessary. It could be useful, = however to provide an rdf query template enabling more advanced users to = select metadata from the supported ontologies and give some value = constraints (the Serql WHERE clause). 2.2.2)=20 * Because of the semantic perspective of resource management, some NLP = algorithms should be provided: at least in order to manage in the RDF = queries, the semantic descriptions of domains and keywords available in = the wordnet and taxonomies repositories. =20 * As to the provision of more advanced NLP algorithms, such as the ones = concerned with lexical analysis and word disambiguation in a given text = context, I could talk about with researchers of the local Bari = University. I will let you know about. 3) I'm looking for. 4) A more refined mapping is necessary to effectively communicate with = other digital libraries. 4+) I assume the Hypercup web service could act as the jeromedl gateway = to communicate both with other digital libraries and with external third = part services platforms providing add on features (ex. = multichannel/multi-device resource distribution, resource composition = and printing on demand, e-commerce transactions, etc.). My colleague = Luigi Intonti is in charge of investigating hypercup: I add its e.mail = address in the mailing list in order to make him aware of this = discussion. =20 -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Sebastian Kruk [mailto:seb...@de...]=20 Inviato: venerd=C3=AC 21 settembre 2007 23.19 A: Giuseppe Bux Cc: JeromeDL Users; Devel JeromeDL; Maciej D=C4=85browski; = hyp...@li...; Slawek Grzonkowski Oggetto: Re: Towards a more deep investigation of JeromeDL ! Slawek, whatever you prefer. I just do not want to pay for this domain anymore. Sebastian, I understand that I'm the last person who is/was working on the project. So it's natural if I take care (pay) of the domain; I can do it, if you like. Another option is to use hypercup.corrib.deri.ie or corrib.deri.ie/hypercup or something like this to avoid such problems in the future. Perhaps, it's a good idea to use the same pattern for other projects. Hi Slawek, just a couple of tasks to reiterate upon your arrival to DERI. I am sorry I am unable to discuss them presonally with you - but I am gone = to=20 ECDL2006. There are 4 issues I want you to handle. Two important - related to stabili= ty=20 of JeromeDL, which we are going to deliver as a stable version with the end= =20 of the month: 1) uploading depictions still does not work due to hard coded path - please= =20 consult Mariusz on that matter - and there is still this annoying "show=20 photo" button - instead of the photo itself=20 2) Mariusz reported problems with HyperCuP + I would like you to make sure= =20 that there are 2 methods connect() [as described sometime ago] one that accepts URI of the integration champion, and other that should be always called first - that has no parameters - and= =20 allows other applications to run HyperCuP for the second time - without any= =20 configuration - as HyperCuP should cache a list of know peers and try to us= e=20 one of them as integration champion. If it cannot - it should rise an=20 exception - and then the application using HyperCuP is responsible for=20 calling the first method (with parameters). Again consult Mariusz - so that= =20 you make sure both JeromeDL and FOAFRealm will run for the second time -=20 without any configuration required Less time constrained - but it would be great to do them before Didaskon gu= ys=20 will leave 3) talk to Wladek on how to switch to the new way of using RDF storage with= =20 RDF2Go 4) talk to Filip (as you suggested) on possibilities of integrating DOAC (?= )=20 with FOAFRealm. For all that have not be informed yet: We've got new CVS server: cvs.corrib.org. Main projects (JeromeDL, FOAFRealm, MarcOnt, HyperCuP, JOnto) are moved there. Please note that current change is only temporal and is caused by sf.net down. We will later decide what to do next. If someone still has no account in this server - please e-mail me directly. I've just managed to set up the mailing list to our cvs. it is: cor...@go... <mailto:cor...@go...> If somebody didn't get invitation to this group please e-mail me directly. Please note that this is only one group for all projects, but all the projects have it's own part in subject: [Foafrealm-commit] [Jeromedl-commit] [Marcont-commit] [Jonto-commit] [Hypercup-commit] So take advantage of message filtering.... -- _/ Regards, _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/ Adam Gzella _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ adam dot gzella at deri dot org / gmail dot com _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/ gg: 1998783, skype: adameqq _/ _/ _/_/ |
