This seems strange - I can't duplicate it with an older version of uPortal. It looks like the tag format has changed - I wonder if there may be a bug in some of the newer uPortal serialization code. There's also a small possibility that there is a xalan version conflict. If you could, do a view source and see what shows up for the save link.
