[Hypercontent-users] cannot subscribe to Content Manager

Hi,

I successfully downloaded and installed uPortal 2-2-1 quickstart and 
HyperContent1_3.
I am unable, though,  to get passed this step in the "Getting Started" 
instructions:

"... go to the Preferences section to subscribe to the Content Manager 
channel."

I think I found the Preferences section ( click on icon in upper right 
hand corner ).
What then?  "Add Content"? select 2. "Content Manager"   and click add?
This has no effect.

How to I subscribe to the content manager please?
