It would be nice to be able to import a drum track from a midi file.
Why it is needed to use hydrogen both as a sequencer and drum sampler instead of just a drum sampler?
Because it has nice humanize, timing and swing features, which can not be accessed, when we use hydrogen just as a drum sampler - is that right?
When an a arrangement is already done in a midi format in a midi editor, it is tedious to write everything again in hydrogen. So in order to have these features, it would be very very nice to be able to import midi to hydrogen.
Hydrogen could import it in a smart way and divide a midi track into patterns which are repeated on a timeline and not just import every measure as a new pattern.
I hope, that it is inspiring for you.
Nevertheless The 0.9.4svn version is fantastic!
congratulations!

Hi,
I've created a perl script that does the MIDI -> hydrogen conversion. It's still very experimental but it does the job. If you are able to do some command line operations on a perl-capable machine, let me know; this might help you.
