Hi! I plan to borrowing the script (commit.hb) from Harbor, what it does - after changes run this script (hbrun commit.hb) and get all modified files in changelog. What must you do after this script, check files in changelog you modified, add a description about changes and put your name to the log entry. What do you think about it? Regards, Alexey Myronenko |

Hi Alexey, sorry but those commits was to test that the upload was working fine. SF had many problems in updating the repositories and now I'm cloning the old repository on the new one, so we don't will lost commit history and last committed works. The repository will be at revision 1907. I remember that is mandatory, for developers that will commit, to make a new checkout of the repository: svn checkout --username=your_username svn+ssh://your_username@svn.code.sf.net/p/hwgui/code/trunk hwgui-code Please, let me know if all worked fine when the import will end. Hi all. The are a lot of time I do not use hwgui for developing because my main income don't come from programming. Last time I used, I noticed few incompatibilities and I have to go back to and old version I had. I am still reading about Harbour and hwgui and many users dropped out hwgui as a GUI for their developments. What I am asking is: Many of you use hwgui almost everyday or working with that. You know mostly what work and what parts or functions do not work or work properly. Is not possible to make a stable and publish a stable release made "per consensus" even you have to reverse many changes or additions ? I still think hwgui is a great tool, hwgui count with great programmers and I hope you agree a solution.Sincerely --- Alejandro de Garate |

In effects the hwgui development, apart some marginal contribution, currently is made only by Basso. This was a great aid for the project as it was languishing after the Kresin lack, but caused much problems because: a. Basso is a vulcanic developer, but no devoted to strong sharing his ideas b. most of his development (of Basso, of course) is targeted to integrate his designer (an alternative to the one in the repository) and this tool is shared by Basso only in the executable format, not in source. So, any action is not discussed and concerted with group but is first tested to be compatible with the designer (this mainly is what induced me to stop to develop in HwGUI) c. the initial framework is largely changed and the code isn't more easily readable to the people using the Kresin skeleton I don't think that hwgui is a stable now for the next release (maybe for > xHarbour), and dev list not closed for discuss that. I worked a lot of time committing and documenting the patches made by Basso (some developer was laughing at me...), When he started to do by itself I abandoned HwGUI development for the reasons above. Currently, I use for some business projects an old version partially patched by me (and very uncompatible with the current code) . I understand your wishes, but are the same I had many time ago. Now, I think, the project could take new life only restarting as you said, counting on the participation of a larger group than one single guy. BR Maurizio |

Hi Alexey, could you explain why you think that it will be useful? Do you find inconsistencies in last commits? I'm asking because is a long time that I don't refresh my hwgui sandbox and I haven't any idea of the status of the library. Basso just asked me yesterday to build a new package release. I've no problem to create a branch and then merge, but I'm feeling that could generate some pain. I just updated the repository to the new version provided by SourceForge but nobody read the sf mail asking to change the repository address to new one, after a fresh checkout. So, we have in living repository still the revision 1905 and in the old the next committed code. I signaled the problem to Basso and seems he have some error in committing. I'll test ASAP the status of the new repository. Let me know your thoughts.
