Hi All Some know if there is a windows replacement for Inkey() function ? Let me explain, i'm working on nonblocking querys for postgres, then, i send the query to database and i check time by time if result is ready. Doing that in clipper, cause the aplication freeze: PQsendQuery(conn, 'SELECT * FROM huge_table') do while .t. if PQconsumeInput(conn) if ! PQisBusy(conn) exit endif endif inkey(1) <----------- I need replace this function for another one that not freeze my aplication enddo res := PQgetResult(conn)) for x := 1 to PQlastrec(res) for y := 1 to PQfcount(res) ?? PQgetvalue(res, x, y), " " next next PQclear(res) PQclose(conn) Regards Rodrigo |

Very good news. Regards Rodrigo -----Mensagem original----- De: hwg...@li... [mailto:hwg...@li...]Em nome de Alexander S.Kresin Enviada em: quinta-feira, 22 de abril de 2004 06:30 Para: hwg...@li... Assunto: [Hwgui-developers] Some thoughts about future HwGUI development Hello hwgui-developers, I want to share with you my thoughts about the most important directions of further HwGUI development. 1. Designer. I plan to rewrite many parts of it to make it a really useful tool. a) Keeping of the controls ( widgets ) set in an external XML file to make it possible to use different controls sets for different platforms/systems and to make it easy to add new supported controls. b) Implementing other file format for forms description - XML based, possibly, UIML or XUL compilant. c) Writing a module for rendering this XML based form description, i.e. building dialogs/windows at runtime from the form description file. d) Get rid off the Borland Workshop like dialogs for control properties setting and implement Delphi like object inspector. 2. HwGUI Linux version. I found it quite important and I will support anyone working in this direction. I think, that all C files and part of the prgs should be rewritten, but the commands and classes must be absolutely the same. Probably, it has a sense to make few versions - for different widget sets - GTK, FOX, etc. 3. Documentation. This is a missing part in HwGUI and I found it very important to make a full and easy to use documentation. I will work on it and I ask all interested to make those parts of documentation, which are more close to you. This is a very useful job, because, trying to explain others how something works, you learn it better yourself and, probably, find weak or missing features. Any comments, additions are welcome. Rodrigo, I think uiHolders has to be replaced by ulHolders in window.c and control.c because both Harbour and xHarbour now use ulHolders by default. uiHolders is no more.
