These two aren't related. xhgtk is an independent library with its own classes hierarchy, commands set, naming convention - this a reason why I can't follow its development, I simply haven't time and other resources to develop libraries with different approaches. My goal is the HwGUI's GTK to be as more compatible with Win32 version as it possible. It is difficult to achieve a full compatibility, but I will be satisfied if we have some subset of commands, classes, functions, which is sufficient for creating common applications and which is the same for Win32 and Linux. How to get it ? > You find that will be possible create form MDI Usually in GTK MDI is "simulated" with notebooks ( tabs in Windows ). In fact MDI is considered "obsolete" in latest Windows interfaces also. It seems the actual "standard" is having 4 different panes with the right part much larger than left one: - a tree menu in the upper left - a multiuse form in the bottom left - input area top right - result area botton right MDI can be replaced with a notebook in the right pane like Mozilla/FireFox tabs. They are "modeless" like MDI childs but they are easier to manage. regards, Lorenzo Fiorini |

Hello hwgui-developers, Few weeks ago I started to work on Linux (GTK) version of HwGUI. Though GTK is a cross-platform framework, I prefer to not use it for Win32 version - it remains Win32 API based, as it is now. I plan to upload first results after implementing the basic widgets set ( probably, including the browse - the most complicated thing, because it isn't implemented in GTK directly ). Currently I'm able to create windows and dialogs, menus and few simple widgets. The GET system works already, too. Moreover, I tried to execute few XML forms, created with the Designer - and they works correctly. Regards, Alexander http://kresin.belgorod.su |
