Just over the last couple of days I've started receiving this error
frequently when trying to check my Hotmail account:

An error ocurred while checking for new mail for 'Hotmail Account'
Connect to bay105.oe.hotmail.com failed: Operation timed out
An exception of type Socket Error occured.
