    Hello.

I am using HTTP Explorer as a normal webserver and fileserver, and every time i access different HTML page, i have to log in.
    Like: page 1> index.html
              page 2>othersite.html
I know i can create a open folder, but i want it all to be locked down

And the web page cannot acces images, css styles and other resources in a "locked" folder.

So is there a way to keep a user+ip logged in for one "season" on the entire server?

    Thanks.

Hello, have you allowed cookies for your ip/domain in your browser? Else, consult your cookies list in your browser to show if a cookie is created by http explorer on log in.

I just did, but http explorer does not create any cookies.

I am using v1.08 (just saw 1.09 is out), will it help to upgrade?

Off topic: Do i have to recinfigure my server? Or will the settings remain?

There is a problem with cookies in v1.08 so I recommend you to use the v1.09.

All your settings remain with the setup or the archive (if you keep config.xml, history.xml,statistics.xml & transfers.xml).

V1.09 creates the username and password cookies, but the web browser still can't access files/objects that are in a locked folder. Even if it's the same folder as the html page.
And i have to log in every time still.
When i use objects from a open folder it all loads in the browser.

What is your browser? Do you have an extension like "live http headers" or a network sniffer to see if your browser send the 'user' & 'passer' cookies in its requests?

I'm using Firefox 3.5, and i don't have any of those or anything like those extensions.

      It happens in IE too.

Can you share a test folder where I could see the problem?

      http://karlsents20.dlinkddns.com/test/
      User and password: test

For some reason this page shows exactly as it should.
But my front page ( http://karlsents20.dlinkddns.com/ )does not.
      Same login.
The first image is is a open folder, and there should be a image at the bottom (it is in the same folder as the html page. The root folder).

In effect, the server don't return the 'Set-Cookie' field in its request on login...

Check the option "page creation method" in configuration tab :

What item is checked : 'created by server' or by 'client browser' ? (try with 'created by server)

      Created by server is selected.

It was a bug in application.

If you want, I can send you the private version with fix.
