HTPHP_1 CVS Tree Replaces HTPHP_CURRENT

The CVS tree is undergoing some major changes. To the extent of which include renaming the HTPHP_CURRENT branch to HTPHP_1. When HTPHP version 1 is released, this branch will be copied and named HTPHP_1_BASE and will never be touched again. All changes post mortem... ah hem.. post HTPHP_1 will be done to the next branch, HTPHP_2 and the HTPHP_1 branch will be removed. I had thought about using the OpenBSD branching system but decided against it. Just a preference... I really dont want to be releasing any half assed 'release' quality releases in between major versions. **I AM NOT SAYING OPENBSD DOES THAT... SO DONT TAKE IT THAT WAY... FLAMEBAIT LOVING PUNK. =)**. In any such event... Help on this project is greatly needed. If you can decipher my sourcecode please send me your ideas... They dont have to be diffs in fact, i still havent learned how to path diffed sourcecode so they wouldnt be much help.

htphp-0.0.1 Prepare For Release Candidate 1

htPHP is a PHP class and a dedicated set of functions to interact with ht://Dig. It allows you to easily use ht://Dig on a web site that is primarily PHP driven. Its standard set of functions allow you to parse header/footer/result variables, and modify your variables effortlessly. 0.0.1-rc1 is the first release candidate and includes new features and bug fixes that hindered previous development. Check it out at http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/htphp.

Error Handling Implemented in CVS CURRENT

The HTPHP_CURRENT branch of the CVS now has an primative system for error handling within the class. This doesnt add any extra user functionality but does make for more descriptive errors when they occur.

htphp-0.0.1-beta1 Is Now Available

Yes thats right folks. htphp-0.0.1-beta1 is here and addresses even MORE issues that i have failed to notice in previous releases. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated. Doing this project alone (not intentionally =) is tough and i would greatly accept help if your a serious PHP developer. Even feature requests would be nice. **i say that now because i have any pretentious fears of feature creep yet... ;-)**

HTPHP_CURRENT is mostly usable now.

The HTPHP_CURRENT branch is, for the time being, usable. I may tarball it up and make a pre-alpha release. There is even better documentation for getting started with htPHP in the docs section so check it out. They are being updated quite frequently and because they dont have any implemenation specific information yet, they are quite usable. I havent received any good feedback yet however i am happy to report that i havent gotten any bad feedback either. Also i noticed that four people have downloaded the alpha versions so that is also good.

Second Alpha Release

GOT IT. Ok, the results.php file is where you direct all searches. As opposed to /cgi-bin/htsearch... There still isnt any documentation and its not completely all self explanitory yet... Im even remembering certain things that i left out that will show up in tomorrows alpha that will make things a little more clear. Hopefully ill have some docs soon and a first beta.

First Alpha Release

I havent worked out an alpha naming convention yet but it will probably be htphp-1.0.0.datestamp . for now i just have ver 0.0.1 but the next version will probably be htphp-1.0.0.20020229 and betas will be htphp-1.0.0.beta1, beta 2, etc... et, al. When (this is assuming i make it this far. =) i get to release candidates they will be basically the same, htphp-1.0.0.rc1, rc2, etc... et, al. Im hoping to get maybe one other good developer to help do a majority of the coding. More or less (AND I AM VERY SORRY) i like the BSD way of doing things (peer auditing, few ppl with commit access... but lots of ppl submitting code). i feel that i can produce a much stronger, secure product as long with this method... Who knows, someday i may 'see the light' and GPL it but im really impressed with the BSD license and espessially OpenBSD's way of doing things. The version of ht://Dig i have here in my releases is their latest stable release in their original tarball. Earlier versions may work, but im not sure. Once again, i apologize for my lack of documentation but its on its way.

CVS - ugggghhhh.

My deepest apologies for the lack of files in my CVS. For some reason I can't seem to upload any files. I keep getting an error "Cannot chdir to /home/users/f/fr/frankm_ccc". It's probably my lack of CVS knowlege so I'm going to try and shy away from using WinCVS. Maybe some good old fashioned Cygwin/CVS will do the trick. If anyone has any ideas please share.
