Hi Dexter,
In fact, I am the writer of the extension. What you describe is a really
complex problem, that is described here and that handle 4 types of
character sets.
Anyway, i have maybe a fix for it. It is not the real release 0.840 but
it contains a fix. I would be interested if you could test it and report
me the results:
Please do this:
1) open this URL in Firefox, install the extension.
http://htmlvalidator.sourceforge.net/mozilla/tidy_firefox_win_0840.xpi
<http://htmlvalidator.sourceforge.net/mozilla/tidy_firefox_win_0840.xpi>
2) this will maybe raise small green line on the top. Allow the website
to install the extension
Then retry.
3) when the new version is installed, does it fix the bug ?
Thanks in advance,
Marc
