Hi Peter,
I will try to see if I can do something to get a better error message.
The thing is that on Mozilla only (not firefox) you need to be root
to install the extension or at least a user with a lot of directory right
to copy all the file of the extension.
In Firefox, happily, this is not needed anymore.
