[HtmlUnit] Contributing to HtmlUnit

A number of people have asked me recently if I accept patches or if I 
could use help so I thought I'd make an official response here :-)

Yes, I will gladly accept patches.  I would be overjoyed to have people 
help with this project.  HtmlUnit is maintained in my spare time and I 
don't always have a lot of that.

There's a gotcha though (you knew this was coming didn't you), having 
had to maintain far too much bad code over the years, I'm somewhat anal 
retentive about the code remaining maintainable.  I insist on certain 
rules such as the code following a specified coding standard and all 
code having automated unit tests.  The full details are written up at

The intent is to keep the code maintainable, not to make life difficult 
for contributers.

There have already been a number of people who have contributed patches 
and their work is greatly appreciated.
