Personnaly I have no experience with HttpUnit. But there turned up a nice book here at our company, which might give some impressions on HttpUnit and how to use it. Just flipping through the HttpUnit-related pages made me decide, that I like HtmlUnit much more ;) The book is called "Java Extreme Programming Cookbook" and it's written by Eric M. Burke & Brian M. Coyner. Oh, and it's published by O'Reilly. I can recommand this book very much, because it covers some interesting test-related topics from a nice practical oriented point of view. There are nice recipes on how using ant, junit, HttpUnit and some tools more and how to combine them. Oh, by the way, there might be questions on you presentation, that ask for other APIs to test web based user interfaces. Recently I found this one here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/jwebunit/ Just by flipping through the java documentation I decided, that I don't like it. Have a look yourself ;) Besides that, there is not as much activity on the project like it is with HtmlUnit. Here is another interesting link for software testing. Gives you some overview about testing tools. Question to Mike B.: Why doesn't HtmlUnit appear in this list? ;) http://www.softwareqatest.com/ And another project I just discovered, which might be interesting: http://xmltestsuite.sourceforge.net Hope this helps Best regards, Thomas Bartz Berlin |
