Brad, I wasn't thinking about implementing a mock servlet container - although by using that might be possible to do this using Jetty. What I was thinking of is to see if it is possible to manipulate the Cactus response object into an HtmlUnit HtmlPage. Then it should be possible to manipulate the HtmlPage on the client side.
