[Htmltmpl] stable enough ?

I have been searching for a php template system similar to HTML::Template for few days and this is
the most promising one that i come cross. there are few HTML::Template implementions for php, by
the way. 

I am just wondering how this project is going now, stable and bug free? the change log stated last
update is 1.22 : 2003/01/03. if this software is being used in production, and how is the
performance? what is the user base( the mailing list seems very quiet) ?
