No problem using Netscape 7 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0). Your port 6000 problem might be caused by your firewall. That would return pretty fast because it's local. A lot of firwalls can be configured to prohibit outbound connections on unknown ports too as a measure to limit damage from compromised machines.
